What can I do daily that can make a difference in this world to help create peace?"

My friend Manama is now nicely and happily ensconced in at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver to begin her PhD. Very envious of her staying in Vancouver -- the place is just so pretty.

Been there a week and she's been to two sessions to listen to the Dalai Lama, who's in Canada to open the Dalai Lama Center for Peace Education - http://www.dalailamacenter.org/

At the talk, a person asked: "What can I do daily that can make a difference in this world to help create peace?"

He answered (paraphrased): "being compassionate in your family and teaching your children to be compassionate." As he said, change does not come from laws, it comes from within peoples, to societies, to nations, then to the worlds.

One of the lecturers at the islamic spirituality conference said: smiling is a piece of charity, so smile -- and contribute to a little bit of happiness in the world :)

BIG HUGS and BIG SMILES to everyone … one more thing the Dalai Lama said… arms are naturally made for hugging! :D
