Epiphany
I have a really good friend, Celestian Monk, whom I spar with all the time. Our discussions and arguments around politics, history, society, capitalism, government, religion get us both agitated -- yet energised. Very few people can debate -- or are interested to. Celestian is an old, old friend. We used to do Literature Special Paper together at JC. It bored me after a while, reading which was a pleasure became a chore once I had to read tomes of novels/plays/poems at record time -- I dropped out and he stuck on to do the exams.
Celestian annoys me to no end as he is a journalist who thinks that journalism is God's gift to Truth & Mankind -- plus he's just probably born annoying ;) Actually, he doesn't just annoy me - his parents, his friends, even grand old men like LKY have known to have shouted at him. He's quite a legend :)
We were on Messenger on the subject of companionship.
Where I was the usual dispenser of advice, here the tables were turned. Today Celestian Monk said a couple of staggeringly insightful wisdoms:
i know you can't help it but (you) let you thots run to the future
but curb them la
don't preempt
ME: Just let nature take its course
i know
it's your way of protecting yourself
from disappointment
futile of course
well your reality cannot encompass God - he surprises us
so don't think so much
one day at a time
Nice. Especially, "well your reality cannot encompass God - he surprises us"
Ameen.
